In order to pay hommage to my obsession, this section of the site lists my favourite C64 games (in no particular
order). By clicking on the screenshots you can download the corresponding game as zipped .d64 file(s) (unless otherwise stated). In order to
play them, I recommend to employ the excellent CCS64 emulator.
Please remember that these games are still copyrighted. Within Germany, it is basically still illegal to distribute copyrighted
C64 games, but it is no longer persecuted if it isn't done for profit. I do not know about the legal situation in other countries, however. If you own
the original, there's definitely no problem. Otherwise I advise you to delete the game after a 24-hour evaluation period.
If you think that this page or parts of it constitute a serious copyright violation, please let me know. I will take the 'offending' bits down
immediately.
Enjoy.

Set in postnuclear America, Wasteland from Interplay offers you a non-linear gameplay, nice animated monster graphics, a highly
interesting story and loads of fun. The best RPG, no wait, defintitely the best game around. Visit the Ranger
HQ Grid for in-depth information.

Armalyte by Thalamus is the ultimate shoot'em up game for the C64. Fast gameplay, incredible graphics and huge
enemies await you.

|
Bard's Tale III - The Thief of Fate by Interplay is a
large scale, fantasy-style RPG. Your party travels through 7 dimensions in order to kill the the mad god Trajan who has destroyed
your home city. Wade's Bard's Tale Page offers walkthroughs, hints, and maps for the entire Bard's Tale series.

Despite being over thirteen years old, Wizard of Wor still provides incredible fun, especially in the two-player
mode. It also includes music guaranteed to drive you nuts.
|
|
Zak McKracken by Lucasfilm is a bizarre
adventure about some incredibly stupid aliens trying to conquer the world
with a machine making humans even more stupid than they are.
Zak McKracken is presently not available for download.

|
Hawkeye by Thalamus is a mixture of jump'n run and shoot'em up with 3-way scrolling, beautiful
graphics and a lovely soundtrack. Be prepared for this experience.
|
|
Last Ninja by System 3 combines beat'em up action
with adventure elements. A fascinating game with a revolutionary graphics
engine. Visit the Last Ninja Archives for detailed information
and emulator image files.
Last Ninja is presently not available for download.

Gunship by Microprose is
a helicopter simulation from the 'good old days' of the Cold War. The background is outdated and the communist-baiting
attitude somewhat annoying, but it is still a good simulation and a milestone for 3D graphics on the 64.
|
|
Infernal Runner by Loricels, although basically a
cheesy Jump'n Run game, is - to my knowledge - the first game offering
plenty of explicit gory deaths. More of a visual experience than a good game.
|
|
Katakis by Rainbow Arts, is another fine Shoot'em Up.
Though quite derivative of R-Type and buggy at times, it is still fine action,
even when finished multiple times. Includes a giant H.R.Giger - inspired
alien as your final adversary.

Unbelievable, but true: a Doom clone for
the C64. Yes, Mood by No Name Software does the trick. It might only have a resolution
of about 50x40, but it includes almost all features of the real Doom.
